Wheel Throwing & Jesmonite Casting Workshops
Learn to throw on the potters wheel or cast terrazzo homewares!
Here at Calico Collective, we are passionate about sharing our skills and making craft accessible. All of our workshops are suitable for beginners or those wishing to expand on their existing skills. We offer two creative workshops, both in our studio space based in Stockport:
Wheel Throwing Workshops – Bespoke 1-1 and 1-2 lessons on the pottery wheel.
Jesmonite Casting Workshops – Group sessions of 6-12 people.
Both of these workshops promise a hands on experience packed with valuable skills to learn and take forward into your own creative development. Have a little look below for more information on each workshop, venue details, and available dates.
These sessions are centred around learning the key processes and fundamentals of throwing pots on the wheel.
As with the 1-1 classes, these sessions will focus on teaching you the key stages of throwing on the wheel, but with company! You will take it in turns.
These are ticketed group sessions that are also available as bespoke classes for birthdays, hen dos & any other occasion!
The Studio: Churchgate Mill, Lavenders Brow, Stockport SK1 1YW
We are based on the first floor, which is currently only accessible via one flight of stairs.
All materials are provided for our workshops including aprons to keep you clean (though we would suggest wearing clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy!)
Soft drinks, including tea & coffee, are included in each class. We always have a selection of nibbles available to enjoy throughout your class too.
Our workshops can vary from one to three hours depending on the craft – we always like to ensure that there is plenty of time for one – to – one teaching and a chance to ask lots of questions.

In addition to the above options, we also offer a few more bespoke options.
The first option is a private workshop at our Stockport based studio. We can fit up to 12 people in our space, with options options including: jesmonite casting, lino printing & clay hand building sessions with a taster on the wheel.
Alternatively, please get in touch if you would prefer us to come to you! We can bring all materials (pottery wheel excluded) to your work place or a venue of your choice for hen dos, parties, team building days or any other event you can think of!
