A hands on introduction to throwing pottery on the wheel. Designed for beginners & improvers alike, this class can be adapted to suit your specific needs & abilities.
These one to one sessions are centred around learning the key processes and fundamentals of throwing pots on the wheel. Following a demonstration by myself, a potter & founder of Calico Collective, you will be guided through each stage of the process with ample support.
We will cover – getting comfortable on the wheel, clay preparation, useful tools, centring, pulling walls, refining shapes & removing the piece from the wheel, amongst other things! The joy of teaching 1-1 classes is that you will have my undivided attention throughout – meaning we can adapt the session to suit your abilities & tailor it to what you’d like to learn.
What’s included – Materials (including one pot to be trimmed, glazed & fired in your choice of colour), aprons, refreshments & nibbles. You are welcome to bring a bottle or extra snacks.
Please note that we share the space with two other ceramicists, who may be present during your session.
